DA21 is an independent charity (Charity Number : 1102528, Company Number: 4988176).
We work co-operatively with local people, communities, businesses, educational bodies, local government and other organisations to encourage sustainable living in Dorset.
We currently have 11 trustees on our board and 3 members of Staff .
Our objectives are:
(1) To promote sustainable development and the prudent use of natural resources;
(2) To advance education and research about sustainable development and the protection of the environment
We do this by:
(1) Raising public awareness and understanding about sustainability
(2) Support or initiate projects which demonstrate sustainability
(3) Influence decision makers to take sustainability into account throughout their decision making
We use the Brundtland definition of sustainable development : "development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs"
