DA21 sits at a the hub of a large network of organisations and community groups who are taking action on Climate Change and Sustainability in Dorset.

We ran a project for 3 years supporting groups around the county, many are listed on the right.

We continue to offer networking support, and advice for established and new groups, althrough our funding for a project officer has now expired, we are continuing to seek funding to support this valuable work.

Please feel free to contact us if you are starting or wish to start a group, or inform us of your events / contact details.

Details of the CCSL project are below.

What was Community Choices for sustainable living (CCSL)?

The CCSL project aimed to inspire and enable local communities to choose more sustainable lifestyles by;

  • Promoting real life examples of sustainable living, partly though visits to case studies.
  • Providing specific local information about the practicalities of sustainable living
  • Developing local Action Groups and Consumer Clubs covering the broad themes of: Energy, Food, Homes, and Travel.
  • Recruiting and supporting volunteers to act as Community Champions, who will be the focal point for the local Action Groups.

It ran from 2005 to March 2008, and many of the groups are still operational (see list on the right).

DA21 also continue to offer support to the groups where we can, for instance articles and contact details in our newsletter and publications, and other practical help.

If you are a new community group, then please get in touch with us.

CCSL was a joint project, with partners in Devon, Dorset (Agenda 21), and Somerset. It was funded by the Environmental Action Fund from DEFRA.
